I Want More Pizza is an informative, yet easy-to-read book that introduces and simplifies real-world personal finance to teens and young adults.

The book is compact and visually pleasing - NOT a cumbersome read - but it's PACKED with useful information. It's written in a friendly tone, as if the author is having an upbeat and casual conversation with the reader on topics such as; why you should begin saving sooner rather than later, understanding mental blocks, smart ways to save, investing options, determining risk, the dangers of debt, credit vs. debit cards, compound growth, paying for college, etc.

This book breaks down personal finance for teens and explains how "time is their biggest asset" regarding saving and investing in their future. The sooner we understand these options, the better equipped we are to make sound financial decisions.

There are a handful of review questions at the end of each chapter to help reinforce the concepts.

Overall, this is a very useful tool for young adults. I plan on buying more to give as graduation gifts.

I've seen this book criticized because some of the facts, which could easily be checked were wrong. Possibly the person who made this comment did not know that the "Good Doctor" wrote on a manual typewriter (sometimes even at the beach) and didn't have a SMART PHONE to check his facts with. You might as well criticize Shakespeare for not using a "spell checker". I include the copyright date for a reason, folks.

This is a book that I'm giving to a rising 9th grader and suggesting that he read it every five years, When he can understand half ot it I'll consider him an informed man in the Physical Sciences.

Donald Lam returned from the South Seas, he had suffered from a tropical disease. The meeting has some sly humor. Miss Georgia Rushe entered the office for help. She had been friendly with her boss Ellery Crail, then went on vacation. When she returned her boss suddenly got married! Mr. Crail had hit Irma Begley's car, and an offer to repair her car and pay her bills soon led to a quick marriage. Georgia wants Cool & Lam to investigate Irma and the Rendezvous business she wants Ellery to buy (Chapter 1). Lam discovers Irma had been in an earlier accident (Chapter 2). Chapter 3 tells about the Rendezvous clubs that operated in the afternoon. Lam is recognized and told to leave. Lam interviews the other man who was sued by Irma Begley, and meets someone from the Rimley Rendezvous. Billy Prue has information, and explains it to Lam. But when she returns to her apartment she finds a dead body (Chapter 5).

The police arrive to take their statements (Chapter 7). Bertha Cool was traced from her earlier accident (while investigating). Lam learns about the dead man's nephew (Chapter 8) and his relationship with Billy Prue. Lam gets a surprising telephone call after the murder weapon is found (Chapter 9). Who could have planted it? Could a clock be changed to create an alibi? Billy Prue tells Lam about Stanberry's racket (Chapter 10). Chapter 12 explains how multiple parties can be held liable for one accident. But one party can make a deal with the plaintiff. Is there a reason why this case should be settled out of court? Can a person be sued to sway their testimony (Chapter 13)? Or to influence a witness? The testimony about the accident sounds like a real court case (Chapter 14). [This is a lesson in testifying about an auto accident when unprepared. If you are ever in an accident write down all the details as soon as possible. Lawyers earn a living by analyzing testimony and making opposing witnesses sound stupid.]

There is a surprise when the lawyers want to settle out of court (Chapter 15). Miss Rushe had a change of mind. [There is more humor in this chapter.] As part of the settlement Lam gets the names of the witnesses and the license numbers of every car that was there. Lam reviews the notes and finds a surprise that leads to a solution of the conflict (Chapter 16). Lam figures out why the handle of that ax was sawn through (Chapter 17). Detective Frank Sellers arrives to conclude the story; the ending is a surprise (Chapter 18). The last chapter ties up the loose ends. [I found the ending to be sort of tacked-on]. Did the famous Fall River murders inspire the method of hiding the ax?

Donald Lam returned from the South Seas, he had suffered from a tropical disease. The meeting has some sly humor. Miss Georgia Rushe entered the office for help. She had been friendly with her boss Ellery Crail, then went on vacation. When she returned her boss suddenly got married! Mr. Crail had hit Irma Begley's car, and an offer to repair her car and pay her bills soon led to a quick marriage. Georgia wants Cool & Lam to investigate Irma and the Rendezvous business she wants Ellery to buy (Chapter 1). Lam discovers Irma had been in an earlier accident (Chapter 2). Chapter 3 tells about the Rendezvous clubs that operated in the afternoon. Lam is recognized and told to leave. Lam interviews the other man who was sued by Irma Begley, and meets someone from the Rimley Rendezvous. Billy Prue has information, and explains it to Lam. But when she returns to her apartment she finds a dead body (Chapter 5).

The police arrive to take their statements (Chapter 7). Bertha Cool was traced from her earlier accident (while investigating). Lam learns about the dead man's nephew (Chapter 8) and his relationship with Billy Prue. Lam gets a surprising telephone call after the murder weapon is found (Chapter 9). Who could have planted it? Could a clock be changed to create an alibi? Billy Prue tells Lam about Stanberry's racket (Chapter 10). Chapter 12 explains how multiple parties can be held liable for one accident. But one party can make a deal with the plaintiff. Is there a reason why this case should be settled out of court? Can a person be sued to sway their testimony (Chapter 13)? Or to influence a witness? The testimony about the accident sounds like a real court case (Chapter 14). [This is a lesson in testifying about an auto accident when unprepared. If you are ever in an accident write down all the details as soon as possible. Lawyers earn a living by analyzing testimony and making opposing witnesses sound stupid.]

There is a surprise when the lawyers want to settle out of court (Chapter 15). Miss Rushe had a change of mind. [There is more humor in this chapter.] As part of the settlement Lam gets the names of the witnesses and the license numbers of every car that was there. Lam reviews the notes and finds a surprise that leads to a solution of the conflict (Chapter 16). Lam figures out why the handle of that ax was sawn through (Chapter 17). Detective Frank Sellers arrives to conclude the story; the ending is a surprise (Chapter 18). The last chapter ties up the loose ends. [I found the ending to be sort of tacked-on]. Did the famous Fall River murders inspire the method of hiding the ax?

About the Author
"Sandy Pfeiffer" has spent a career in technical and professional writing. With a Ph.D. in English, he is vice president for academic affairs and a professor of English at Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, Georgia. His home department offers both B.S. and M.S. degrees in Technical and Professional Communication, as well as a B. A. in International Technical Communications.

Besides the "Pocket Guide," Pfeiffer has written "Technical Writing: A Practical Approach," now in its 5th edition (Prentice Hall, 2003). The book is used in colleges and universities around the country. He also wrote "Proposal Writing: The Art of Friendly Persuasion" (Merrily 1989); coauthored, with Chuck Keller, "Proposal Writing: The Act of Friendly and Winning Persuasion" (Prentice Hall, 2000); and wrote "Pocket Guide to Public Speaking" (Prentice Hall, 2002).

Since 1979, Pfeiffer has taught communication seminars to business, industry, and government groups in the United States and overseas. Sample seminar topics include Report Writing, Proposals, Oral Presentations, Effective Meetings, and Technical Editing.

Textbooks cost much less on Amazon.

This text chosen by the professor for my Technical Writing course is a new edition and sold on Amazon for less than half the price the College Bookstoore wanted. It was an excellent surprise that it was very well written and I expect will be a valuable reference for me in years to come.

Good textbook

The seller was great and this book is definitely helpful and easy to read. The author makes the information simple and clear. Good examples of different writing styles are presented. Even as a used copy, the book seems to hold up well. If your instructor allows you to use a later edition of the book, you should be able to follow with this edition easily.

This book is very detailed and thorough, I can't say anything really bad about this book other than it was a bit too wordy and could have been shorter and a bit more concise. It is, however a text book so... what do you expect.
